Vestibular Rehabilitation

We help people get out of pain so that they can remain fit, healthy and mobile without medications, injections or surgeries.

Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy

Vestibular rehabilitation is an exercise-based program, designed by a specialty-trained vestibular physical therapist, to improve balance and reduce problems related to dizziness.

This therapy retrains the brain so that the incorrect sensations of motion generated by the inner ear are corrected. The therapy consists of various exercises designed to improve visual orientation, ocular motor skills, balance, and gait.

Why Our Treatment Works

Comprehensive evaluation of all functional impairments will be performed by our physical therapist. Our findings will lead to creation of a program that will improve your function and match with your goals of care.

Our vestibular rehabilitation experts can evaluate and treat patients who suffer from symptoms that include:

  • Feelings of unsteadiness
  • Wooziness (swimming feeling in head)
  • Light headedness
  • Feelings of passing out
  • Sensations of moving
  • Spinning
  • Floating
  • Swaying
  • Tilting
  • Whirling (sensations known as vertigo)

Vestibular Treatment Plan

Many times, vestibular rehabilitation therapy will be the only treatment needed. Other times, it is a part of the pre-surgery/post-surgery treatment plan. In most cases, if patients continue to perform the exercises they have learned, balance and dizziness problems decrease significantly or completely disappear.
